$12,000.00

Published April 2024; includes online access through March 2026

DESCRIPTION

PAI/2024 is the latest edition of the PAI report series, providing worldwide product forecasts for 2022-2028 (by year). The product forecasts are shown by major end-user market segment and by geographic region. The report identifies the leading suppliers in each of the technology categories including liquid analyzers, photometers/spectroscopy, oxygen, gas chromatography, mass spectrometers, moisture analyzers, advanced analyzers and other continuous process analyzers.

The PAI/2024 report adheres to the product and market definitions established in the previous editions while also exploring current issues such as the use of “soft” sensors and artificial intelligence for predictive modeling. Sustainability and alternative fuels/energy pose both challenges and opportunities for industry participants, while the vulnerability of global supply chains exposed by the pandemic have caused countries to re-think product/material sourcing, favoring repatriation and local sourcing.

As with previous editions, this report is backed by an extensive research effort incorporating multiple contacts with instrument manufacturers, systems integrators and end-users as well as other participants in this marketplace. Purchasing the PDF report also give you online access to TDA’s Instrument Industry Dashboards (Process DB), which is updated quarterly based on global economic shifts.

**Online access to TDA’s industry benchmark data is only available to active subscribers of the PAI report series.

**The next edition of this report is scheduled to be published in April 2026.

The PAI data report series is a product collaboration between TDA and PAI Partners, the original authors of the report. PAI Partners has a long history in the market, covering process analytical instruments since the 1970s. The original principals of PAI Partners were Terry McMahon, Steve Walton, and Jim Tatera. Combining forces with PAI Partners since 2016, TDA has performed numerous studies in the process analytical instruments industry becoming the standard reference resource for PAI applications and related market data.

TDA’s industry benchmark data is the standard resource for the leading companies in life science, lab and process analytical instruments industry. Executives, leaders and product managers of the industry rely on TDA’s data, which is backed by over 25 years experience tracking technological advances and global market trends.

Our continuing goal is to illustrate and quantify the total market opportunity (total addressable market – TAM, serviceable addressable market – SAM, and serviceable obtainable market – SOM. In addition, TDA offer consulting services to clients with specific requirements on a private basis. Our top-down, strategic services include acquisition and divestiture support (i.e., due diligence), diversification measures and opportunity analyses, and strategy development.

CLASSIFICATIONS

Chromatography

  • Process chromatograph analyzers include gas chromatographs (GC), liquid chromatographs (LC), ion chromatographs (IC), and supercritical fluid chromatographs (SFC) used in on-stream applications.

Photometers & Spectrometers

  • Process photometers and spectrometers include nondispersive infrared (NDIR) photometers, UV-visible photometers, laser-based spectrometers (e.g., tunable diode laser -TDL and quantum cascade laser -QCL absorption spectrometers), process optical spectrometers (including NIR, FTIR and Raman spectrometers), and other photometers (colorimetric, fluorescence) for on-stream applications.

Oxygen & Combustibles Analyzers

  • Process oxygen and combustibles analyzers include oxygen, combustibles and related analyzers used in combustion gas or process gas applications. Analyzer products such as NDIR photometers that are also used in combustion applications are not included here, but rather, in their primary product subtotal.

Liquid Analyzers

  • Process liquid analyzers include instrument controllers, sensors and related accessories/consumables. Electrochemical analyzers consist of pH, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), specific ion, conductivity, dissolved oxygen and related instruments. Other types include turbidity, process titrimeters, CFA/FIA analysis systems and TOC/TOD analyzers.

Other Process Analyzers

  • Process moisture instruments, process mass spectrometers, petroleum physical property analyzers, process elemental & minerals analyzers, process magnetic resonance analyzers and a range of dedicated analysis instruments including thermal conductivity, sulfur-specific and other types.

Other Analyzer-Related Revenues

  • This subtotal aggregates non product-specific revenues, including sample handling systems, analyzer systems integration services, analyzer shelters, spare parts, supplies (including carrier and calibration gases), support, training and maintenance services provided by analyzer manufacturers or analyzer integration specialists. The estimated values of these equipment/service contributions are provided directly by the end users themselves or by general engineering contractors working on their behalf. They are not included in these totals but are estimated separately.
