DESCRIPTION

The PAI report is a product of a collaboration between TDA and PAI Partners. Principals of TDA developed all estimates of market size and growth, market share and related market data. The PAI/2022 report adheres to the product and market definitions established in the previous editions while also exploring new topical issues such as the expanding niches for laser-based optical spectroscopy and growing service opportunities in the industry.

Our continuing goal is to illustrate and quantify this market opportunity. In addition, TDA offer consulting services to clients with specific requirements on a private basis. Top-down, strategic services include acquisition and divestiture support (i.e., due diligence), diversification measures and opportunity analyses, and strategy development.

PAI/2022 provides worldwide product forecasts for 2020-2026 (by year). These product forecasts are also shown by major end-use market segment and by geographic region. The report identifies the leading suppliers in each of the product market categories.

As with previous editions, this report is backed by an extensive research effort incorporating multiple personal contacts with instrument manufacturers, systems integrators and end-users as well as other participants in this marketplace. Included with your purchase is online access to TDA’s Instrument Industry Dashboards (Process Instruments Only).

Information in this dashboard is updated quarterly, including benchmark data from key performance indicators for the industry. In addition, subscribers can download TDA’s Instrument Industry Outlook (published annually in January), as well as the midyear update (published annually in July). Online access to TDA’s Industry Dashboards (Process Instruments) is only available to purchasers of the PAI report series.

TDA’s Industry Data Dashboard is the standard resource for the leading companies of the analytical and life science industry. Executives, leaders and product managers of the industry rely on TDA’s data, which leverages 20 years experience tracking technological advances and market trends.

TDA’s Process Analytical Instrument (PAI) report series was conceived from a collaboration with PAI Partners, the original authors of the report. PAI Partners has a long history in the market, covering process analytical instruments since the 1970s. The original principals of PAI Partners were Terry McMahon, Steve Walton, and Jim Tatera.

Principals of TDA and PAI Partners developed all estimates of market size and growth, market share, and related market data presented in the PAI report. PAI/2022 adheres to the product and market definitions established in the previous editions while exploring new topical issues.

TDA’s continued goal is to illustrate and quantify the market opportunity. The next edition of this report is scheduled to be published in April 2024.

Terry McMahon (1935 – 2018)
Terry authored over a dozen market studies from 1973 to 1991 that covered process analytical instruments, as well as PAI/94 published by PAI Partners in 1995. He has consulted in the instrumentation, automation, and control fields for over 50 years. Terry collaborated on and published the PAI reports every year until 2016.

Steve Walton
Steve was the principal author of DMCW’s PCM Update: Analytical & Specialty Measurement Equipment published in 1996. Steve collaborated on and published the PAI reports every year until 2016. He has over thirty years of experience providing consulting services to industrial technology companies with emphasis on instrumentation and automation.

Jim Tatera
Jim has over four decades of process analysis experience, primarily from the end-user perspective. He spent 28 years (23 in process analysis and control) working at a major international chemical company (Dow Corning), gaining experience in GC, x-ray, NIR, Raman, FTIR, particle sizing, mass spec., oxygen, moisture, LEL, liquid monitoring, and several specialized environmental monitoring technologies. Jim has also consulted for over 16 years with process analyzer users, vendors, and academia on a variety of topics (primarily technology adoption and hardening, as well as instrument design and maintenance) and convened working groups and/or represented US positions on international process analyzer standards committees for ~ 25 years.
